Charity and Jamel Hamka recently moved from Roanoke, VA to Statesville, NC (with a very short stop in Palm Coast, FL!). Statesville is also only a little
over an hour north of Charlotte, NC. Jamel and Charity have been married since 2003 and have no children presently. Jamel works a business at home as well and Charity teaches piano. Jamel grew up in a breeders home and both have been animal lovers their entire lives.
In 2003, we decided we would like to make a doggy addition to our home, and went hunting for the perfect dog. We fell in love with a little white furball, and when we brought her home, Daisy was the center of attention. As we worked with her and played with her, we were amazed at the breed attributes displayed. She far exceeded our expectations. We decided that this was a breed that should be enjoyed by more, and added to our little family Jehu (our male), Sesi and lastly Molly. This website has been designed not only to be attractive but also to really show-case the American Eskimo. We hope you will find answers to all your questions. Especially read through our American Eskimo page, our FAQ page and learn more about us and our distinctives below!

What sets Platinum Eskies apart?
First of all, we ensure your puppy’s good health. It starts before your puppy is ever conceived, providing proper diet and exercise to the parents. Throughout the pregnancy, the dam is monitored to ensure she and the puppies are progressing well. In addition to this she is provided with additional nutritional supplements and exercise. We are there, assisting with every birth during whelping, and take every pain to ensure that each puppy comes through the critical first twenty-four hours in good health. Each puppy is then taken to the veterinarian for a check-up (along with the dam), and dewclawed. Dewclawing is a simple procedure in which the side claws of the front legs are removed, preventing painful and expensive accidents in the future. Each puppy is carefully monitored throughout their time with us, and weaned on premium puppy food and given NuVet Plus every day. By the time it leaves us, it will have had its first set of shots and a final check up from the veterinarian.
Secondly, we employ every possible measure to form good emotional health in each puppy. We consider each of our dogs a member of the family. We treat the puppies no differently. From day one, the puppies are in our home, being handled, played with and loved on every single day. Someone is home the majority of the time, making sure the pups are well cared for, and interacting with them throughout the day. Unlike kennels that produce dozens of litters every year, we have only 2-3, giving us adequate time and space in our home to care for the puppies as they should be cared for. The American Eskimo is one of the most delightful breeds we have ever encountered, but as with many breeds, if the puppies are not properly socialized, over aggressiveness, excessive shyness and submissive urination (wetting when excited or fearful) are often the result. Due to the number of puppies produced, owners and operators of kennels and pet stores generally do not have the resources to properly socialize the puppies, and as a result, those that purchase puppies from these places often face the challenge of dealing with these emotional issues.
Thirdly, we put the puppy’s welfare foremost. We are determined that our puppies should belong to a family that loves it and is committed to its well-being. We screen buyers through our questionnaire and our conversations with them.
Fourthly, we make every effort to make your experience of purchasing a puppy a smooth and enjoyable process. Each puppy comes with the UKC regist
ration paperwork, a health examination by our vet, a one-year genetic health warranty, a personalized puppy training manual (Example to the Right), a personalized CD with all of your puppies pictures from birth until pick up, a toy they have played with, NuVet starter kit, and an puppy pack containing valuable information and a bag of their Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken puppy food.
Our goal at every point in the process is excellence, and we are committed to sharing a delightful breed with others, and providing wonderful homes for our pups.
